Penang Bridge to close from midnight to 10am on Dec 17

The Penang Bridge (first bridge) (பினாங்கு பாலம்) will be closed from midnight to 10 am, possibly reopening earlier if conditions permit due to Penang Bridge Marathon (பினாங்கு பாலம் மாரத்தான்)

. Road closures start on Dec 16 at 11 pm, with diversions from 9 pm. Participants can park at Queensbay Mall (குயின்ஸ்பே மால்), and visitors are advised to use Bayan Lepas (பயான் லெபாஸ்)  and nearby areas. Residents in affected areas will have access to their homes.

The Full Marathon has 3,800 participants, Half Marathon 7,750, and the rest in the 10km category. The Penang ferry service will extend from 10 pm (Dec 16) to 6 am (Dec 17), and the Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge (பினாங்கு இரண்டாவது பாலம்) will remain open.
